In every box
The book, the kit and Milo.
The 164-page Maker's Book of Origins takes you through every build, chapter by chapter. Milo, your AI mentor, opens on a laptop, tablet or phone at milo.makernest.com, on the same chapter you are. Together they turn a table at home into a maker-space.
Diwali launch · Origins and Motion
The best place for makers' ideas to come to life.
A real book, a real machine and a mentor called Milo. Build one machine, chapter by chapter, and give it real jobs in your own home.
14 BUILDS PER LEVELTHE BOOK IN THE BOXMILO INCLUDED
Origins · Diwali launch price ₹3,450Four levels. Each starts where the last one stopped.
One level a year, starting at 10. Every level is a complete kit on its own, built on real science and real technology.
How a kit works
One box. One machine. Fourteen builds.
-
01
One machine that grows
Every chapter adds to the same machine on its own base board. Nothing is thrown away. -
02
Sealed compartments
Each opens in the week you need it, so most chapters start with something new in your hands. -
03
A real book
Every build printed in full, in Milo's voice. The book lies open while you build. -
04
Break it on purpose
Every chapter makes the machine go wrong, so you find out how it really works. -
05
You decide
The book often won't give you the number. That depends on your home and your job. -
06
Show somebody
Every chapter ends with showing your work to a person who wasn't there.
Origins · Level I
Fourteen things to build, and one machine that becomes all of them.
My number won't change.
Good clue. What have you ruled out so far?
The display. It works.
Then follow the sensor lead. Which row is it in on the shield?
The wrong one!
Meet Milo · Your AI mentor
A mentor who asks the right question.
Milo wrote the books, and Milo is there when you're stuck, on a phone, tablet or laptop. It knows your level and your chapter, hands you every sketch, and answers a question with a better question until you find the answer yourself.
The chapters end. The machine doesn't.
Every part and sketch you've unlocked stays open. This is where your own ideas come from.
Printed mission cards. A doorbell for a friend's house. Who moves the lamp at night?
Two makers side by side. Whose sensor wins, whose ring lights first.
Post your machine, see what other makers built, and take on community challenges.
For grown-ups
What you'll want to know before you buy.
Every box has a card for the grown-up at home: how to help without taking over.
Which level should we start with?
Start with Origins, whatever the age. Each level starts where the last one stopped, so Motion builds on the Origins machine and its ideas.
Do we need a computer?
Yes, a laptop or desktop for uploading each chapter's sketch over USB. Milo works on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Is it safe?
The builds run on a low-voltage battery pack. The book's safety page covers the battery and charging; read it together before chapter 01.
What does Milo keep?
Milo needs no account and asks for no personal details. Conversations are kept for 7 days, then deleted.
What if a part breaks or goes missing?
Spare sensors, leads, card bodies and stickers are sold in Parts and refills, so no build ever stops. Or write to support@makernest.com.
